PRODUCT INFORMATION
If you have multiple Mercury engines with SmartCraft and OEM Mercury ignition switches, installation is incredibly easy. The CoastKey Start Panel fits directly into the existing ignition switch opening, and the connectors on the included harness plug straight into the existing wiring. Truly PLUG & PLAY.
**Older Mercury installations, including those with the key switches integrated into the side-mounted control boxes, require a CoastKey kit with a Cut & Splice harness. The same applies to installations with aftermarket key switches.
COASTKEY BASIC is the basic version of CoastKey.
In addition to the Engine Control Box and Harness, it consists of a Start Panel which is mounted in clear view at the steering position. To “unlock” you simply enter a PIN code instead of using an ignition key. The obvious advantage of this solution is that you have keyless access to the boat, and if there are several people using the boat, everyone has the same access without having to have their own keys. It is easy to change the PIN code to restrict access, for example after loaning out the boat.

CoastKey is installed instead of, or in parallel with, the existing ignition key, and you can still use the existing kill-switch lanyard.
