We have found the wireless kill cord very useful in operating our RIB during science operations.
The ‘crew’ often needs to help scientists in deploying their instruments and sampling equipment, bringing the divers and their material onboard and thus need to leave the wheel regularly. Since we can now move freely around the boat we don’t need to care about the safety function of a kill cord.
The physical kill cord was most of the time not attached to the one steering the boat since it did not allow to move around or engines got shut down when trying to.
